The statement below is taken from the Corporate Bylaws of the Organization
We share a common faith as Christians that is expressed in the Nicene Creed, and we seek to bring into practical expression our belief that God made man and woman in His own image and likeness.
Each man and each woman is a unique reflection of the Heavenly Father. Because of this uniqueness, humankind is completely and entirely the focus of human concern. Men and women have the right to seek fulfillment and experience that fulfillment either through their own efforts or through the efforts of others.
The consequence of this unique reflection of the Heavenly Father is realized in His life, death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ who is the Father's gift to us. Christ gives us a unique opportunity to see and understand all human suffering in terms of the infinite value of His suffering and death -- their suffering can be an enhancing and enlivening influence in the life of mankind.
The purpose of this association of Christian people dedicated to the care of the sick and support of the aging is to provide an environment of service and encouragement to those who find themselves either temporarily or permanently in need of our support services and care. To help those in need to understand the redemptive value of suffering and to find in it positive good, not only for themselves but those who serve them.
Therefore:
(a) We acknowledge that the Christian intention of all participants in the Apple Valley Christian Centers is basic to its function.
(b) We accept the responsibility of fulfilling the spiritual and corporal works of mercy which are the marks of Christian servant hood.
(c) We will care for the sick, the ailing, house and care for the indigent, the unprotected, the aging and the infirm, insofar as our means and the Bylaws of the Apple Valley Christian Centers will permit. This is the primary purpose of this association.
(d) We will demonstrate that all people, regardless of religious practices, nationality, race, sex or age have an inherent right to human dignity.
The affairs of the Apple Valley Christian Centers will be governed by the principles of Christian ethics. Every person we serve will have the right to practice his or her religious beliefs and will be encouraged in their fulfillment. No one religious belief will be set forth in preference to others, but all will be given the freedom to receive the consolations of their religious faith and have the means to attend the services of their faith whenever possible. Those elements of oneness in the Christian faith shared by the parties to this association will be given expression by the quality of love and servant hood expressed in our partnership in this ministry.
